Hassan Nasrallah: Battle Against Daesh (ISIS) Begins
Video and Transcript
June 17, 2015 In his last speech, the Secretary General of Hezbollah evoked the latest developments of the war opposing Hezbollah and the Syrian Arab Army to the takfiri terrorists along the Lebanese-Syrian border, where the successes of the Resistance continues despite the propaganda.
After defeating the Al Nosra Front, Hezbollah fighters repelled a surprise attack from the “Islamic State” and now announce their determination to eliminate any terrorist presence along their border. Sayed Hassan Nasrallah says that the enemy will be routed, and that victory is inevitable.
What I wish to talk about in the few minutes left to me regards the latest developments, namely the situation in the Qalamoun and the jurd of Ersal. Of course, in recent days, major victories have occurred in the Qalamoun, and especially with the victories achieved this morning, I can now say that the high peaks and lofty mountains (some say the dominating mountains) have all fallen under the control of the Syrian Arab Army and the Mujahideen of the Resistance (Hezbollah). [Public: “Salutations be upon the Prophet (saas) and his family.”] They now have the required control – via firepower, sufficient to militarily dominate the rest of jurds of this region. In the jurd of Ersal, during these last days, this great progress was achieved, and a total and humiliating defeat was inflicted on the Al-Nusra Front [affiliated with Al Qaeda].
Now there is some people in Lebanon trying to help the Al-Nusra Front psychologically, morally, in terms of media, they support them, but it’s too late, their defeat is clear and things will continue to move in this direction.
The major development is the beginning of the battle and confrontation against Daesh (Islamic State). And it’s no problem that they were the ones who opened the fight. For in our case (maybe some people give this value from a military perspective), for psychological, moral and religious reasons, a group that attacks us first and is the aggressor is for us preferable to it being we who started the aggression. Religious scholars, especially the clerics and those who follow the law and cultural issues are aware of it.
In any case, yesterday, they attacked with hundreds of fighters and a large number of military vehicles several bases of our brothers in the Jurd Ras Baalbeck along the Lebanese-Syrian border. That is to say, they did not attack the vicinity of Ersal and Qalamoun where the front is open. Perhaps they assumed that this quiet front was asleep, and that they could take advantage of the surprise factor and negligence (of Hezbollah) and get a great moral victory and occupy our positions, take control and therefore control strategic and very sensitive points on the border between Lebanon and Syria, especially the towns of Ras Baalbeck and Qaa. Similarly, they hoped to expand in the region and reunite certain areas under their control.
Yesterday’s attack had several objectives, whether on the psychological, moral, media, or military level, as well as the reality and presence on the ground. The brothers of the Resistance have faced up with courage and heroism, they killed dozens of armed fighters (it’s not my responsibility to give the exact figures, let the media talk of it), dozens of Daesh fighters fell, were killed and wounded, a number of their vehicles were destroyed, and they fled humiliated and defeated, abandoning many of their dead on the battlefield.
Naturally, the resistance (Hezbollah), which fights in the most violent battles, saw a number of its Mujahideen fall as martyrs with honour in this battle we have won, and we ask God, Glorified and Exalted, to accept them and grant their families patience and solace and make for their families and for us honour, pride and glory in this world and in the hereafter.
Here is what I want to say about it: the battle against Daesh in Qalamoun has started, as well as in the Eastern (mountain) range, on the border between Lebanon and Syria. They are the ones who attacked us and initiated the battle, and there is no problem with that, but we will continue this battle. We have the absolute determination to end this evil terrorist takfiri presence at our border, whatever should be the price and sacrifice. As for us, this is an irrevocable decision.
Whatever the violence of the battles, the extent of the sacrifices, propaganda and the collusion of the media, the pressures here and there, all the statements, what I am saying is not new, but as confirmation for each day, and with every martyr who was elevated to the Kingdom of God, Glorified and Exalted be He, we confirm our determination, our determination, our firm and decisive will not to tolerate after that day the presence of any terrorist or takfiri at our borders, in our mountains or in the smallest part of our villages. And I guarantee you, I guarantee with certainty that they will suffer a crushing defeat. They will be vanquished and defeated. It is only a matter of time. And as I have said on more than one occasion, we’re in no hurry. We act with the composure necessary to achieve this goal and purpose.
When one of us (or some of us) have the will, determination and resolution, and the ability, faith and trust, as well as such heroic mujahedeen (Hezbollah fighters), so with certitude, we shall not consider but the inevitable horizon of the next victory.
Congratulations and greetings, and peace and mercy of God be upon you and His blessings.

It’s Ok, Everyone, Nusra Says Nusra Won’t Hurt Us
By Brandon Turbeville
Al-Nusra Front has taken to the airwaves with a message for all Westerners and Americans in particular – they really aren’t that bad. And there are no plans to attack Americans. They are just your friendly neighborhood terrorist organization, funded handsomely by the West and the GCC, raping and beheading their way across the Middle East. There’s nothing to worry about so long as the US allows them to continue to rape little girls, cut off heads, impose savage Sharia law, and eat the hearts and livers of the occasional dissident.
This message was brought to you by the feudal monarchy of Qatar and its mouthpiece organization, Al-Jazeera and conducted with a journalist whose past is checkered with a conviction of supporting al-Qaeda.
The alleged leader of al-Nusra Front, Abu Mohammed al-Julani, appeared on al-Jazeera with a setting fit for a king (or Emir *ahem*) to discuss Nusra’s plans for Syria and the West. The man alleging to be Julani and alleging to be the leader of Nusra, despite claiming to be “fearless,” sat with his face covered and his back to the camera. The set was ornately decorated and almost appeared to be some type of palace room or high government building.
Julani reassured Westerners that he had been ordered by another alleged leader, this time of al-Qaeda proper, Ayman al-Zawihiri, not to launch attacks against the West as this would jeopardize the mission in Syria.
A New York Times report cited a US intelligence official as saying that Julani’s statements were merely self-serving propaganda.
Propaganda? Yes. Self-serving? Not exactly. Julani’s statements were actually serving NATO, the US, and Israel in their own propaganda efforts to assure the American people that supporting the so-called “rebels” in Syria is a good idea and one that will not come back to bite them.
Indeed, Julani truly spoke like a paid actor or a professional trained talking monkey in his job as message delivery boy. Obviously, neither designation would set him clearly apart from any other “expert” or “reporter” in the Western/Gulf media propaganda establishment.
Still, the “fearless” hijabed Julani stated, “We are only here to accomplish one mission, to fight the regime and its agents on the ground, including Hezbollah and others. Al-Nusra Front doesn’t have any plans or directives to target the West. We received clear orders not to use Syria as a launching pad to attack the US or Europe in order to not sabotage the true mission against the regime. Maybe al-Qaeda does that, but not here in Syria.”
The only true part of his statement was that Khorosan, painted as the end of the Western world and enemy #1 for a total of about five days, was a fictional organization invented by the Americans to deceive and frighten the American public.
His presentation of al-Qaeda and al-Nusra Front as different organizations, however, is ludicrous, since Nusra was merely the Syrian version of al-Qaeda proper before the two groups were largely united by the shadowy Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi and renamed the Islamic Emirate of Iraq and the Levant, later to be renamed Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant, ISIS, and IS. Of course, all incarnations of the group were entirely organized, funded, and armed by the United States, NATO, and GCC.
Julani also stated that Nusra would not harm Christians or Druze who refused to fight against it and that the even the Alawites would be spared if they would refuse to fight, reject Assad, and give up their religious beliefs and convert to Sunnism.
Of course, this is disingenuous to say the least. The “opposition” in Syria was famous for screaming “Christians to Beirut, Alawites to the grave!” as far back as 2011 when the crisis first began. Alawites have long been targeted by the so-called “rebels” from the start. Regardless, for the likes of the “moderate rebels,” no Muslim – even Sunni – is ever Muslim enough, unless he practices the Wahhabist filth that is labeled Islamic by its proponents and psychopathic adherents.
The reality of the situation is that Julani’s statements are nothing more than Western intelligence propaganda foisted upon the brains of the Western public in an effort to gin up support for the savages now bearing down on Latakia Syria as I write this article.
Of course, Nusra and al-Qaeda will still be played up as a threat to the US here at home. After all, there are a few straggler civil liberties ambling about that still need to be corralled and destroyed.
Obama Forced to Address Israel’s Oil Smuggling
by Dr Stuart Jeanne Bramhall
US Backs Russian UN Resolution Targeting ISIS
According to Bloomberg’s, on Feb 10 the UN Security Council adopted a binding Russian resolution threatening economic and diplomatic sanctions against countries and individuals that help ISIS and other terrorist groups profit from trading oil, antiquities or hostages. As the US vetoes most Russian Security Council resolutions, this was an historic event.
The resolution requires governments to ensure that they aren’t engaged in direct or indirect trade with ISIS and al-Qaeda-affiliated groups such as the al-Nusra Front in Syria. According to Bloomberg’s, the resolution will significantly impact Turkey and Syria, which allow the purchase of oil from the militant group.
Facts the article omits are probably more significant than the omissions.
First Bloomberg’s neglects to mention that the US initially opposed the resolution and spent three days frantically trying to counter and/or change the draft language. Presumably this relates to inconvenient truth that Israel is one of the main destinations of the smuggled oil.
Second it fails to comment on an extremely odd scenario in which the Assad government is purchasing smuggled oil from ISIS:
Thirdly it (deliberately?) leaves Israel and unnamed EU nations off the list of countries buying oil from ISIS.
The text of the resolution, which stops short of threatening the use of force, urges governments to share information on ISIS financing networks, bans exports of all antiquities from Syria and reiterates the call on countries to prevent ISIS from benefiting from political concessions or ransom payments made to secure the release of hostages.
It also requires countries to block aircraft, auto and truck traffic, including oil tankers, traveling to or from areas in Syria and Iraq where the extremist groups operate.
ISIS earns about $1 million a day from oil sales.
In addition, according to a recent BBC investigation, ISIS also receives substantial income from looting and smuggling of antiquities from Iraqi and Syrian historical and archaeological sites. The primary market for the stolen objects is Europe and the Gulf states. Ten-thousand-year-old artifacts can fetch as much as $1 million each. An Iraqi intelligence official told the Daily Mail that ISIS earned £23 million in early 2014 alone by selling 800 items stolen from the ancient city of Al-Nabk near Damascus.
In 2014, ISIS also brought in approximately $45 million in 2014 from kidnapping for ransom.
The resolution doesn’t spell out specific penalties for countries found guilty of helping ISIS. It would require the Security Council to debate whether any violations have occurred and what punitive measures it would order. The resolution requires all 193 members of the UN to report within 120 days on measures they’ve taken to comply with it. The UN’s existing al-Qaeda sanctions committee will monitor and report on any progress.
All in all, it looks like a pretty shrewd move by Russia. Obama now has 120 days to report back how he plans to sanction US allies Turkey and Israel – or face a UN Security Council resolution calling for sanctions on the US. While the US would surely veto such a resolution, it provides an excellent opportunity for Russia to embarrass Obama and Israel by exposing their financial and military ties to ISIS.
This past week, the US also backed a Russian resolution to the UN Security Council supporting the Minsk Ceasefire.
