The world, including the US press, is looking on in horror at recent events in Libya. Libya is now a center of human trafficking, with human beings packed into ships bound for Europe.Libyans are so desperate to escape their country, now wrecked with civil war and astounding levels of poverty, they are risking their lives. Ships filled with desperate human beings have crashed, and a number of corpses have washed up on Libya’s beaches.
Furthermore, the Islamic State organization, which has been terrorizing and murdering people in Iraq and Syria, is moving into action on the African continent. Libyan Christians are being executed by ISIS fighters. *****(As far as I know there are no Libyan Christians in Libya what we do have are Libyan Jews but not Christians. I believe the journalist means the Christian Copts and the Ethiopian Christians)
400,000 people in Libya are declared by Human Rights Watch to be “internally displaced.” In 2014 alone, over 250 journalists, religious and political leaders, and judges have been assassinated. ****We have to thank NATO AND F.U.K.U.S. for all what is happening in Libya and they refuse to take responsibility for their stupidity to topple the previous government and the Leader who was in cold blood murdered but put the blame to Libya.
Is there any rational human being, who can argue that the Libya of today is better off than the Libya that existed prior to 2011?Can any rational, logical case be made that funding the anti-government insurgents, and the eventual US NATO bombing campaign, improved the conditions of the Libyan people?
While the US media has often played up false or exaggerated stories of Cubans fleeing to Miami on rafts, the whole world is seeing how thousands of Libyans are piling into boats, desperately trying to cross the Mediterranean. Just like Iraq, Afghanistan, and Syria, Libya has been destroyed by a campaign of western intervention.
Before the US/NATO Attack
Prior to the foreign backed war and bombing of 2011, Libya had the highest life expectancy on the African continent. The government that emerged from the 1969 revolution, led by Colonel Moammar Gaddafi had resulted in the development of nationalized oil resources.
Every Libyan was guaranteed an income, based on a personal share of the country’s oil profits. Food and housing were heavily subsidized. Libyans received free education and free medical care. The Libyan government constructed the worlds most efficient irrigation system, bringing waterto an extremely dry country.
The huge economic achievements of Libya’s independent economic development were marveled at by people around the world. The “Green Book” that explained Gaddafi’s “Third Universal Theory” was studied around the world by people who were inspired by Libya’s achievements.
Libya funded other peoples who fought for their national liberation. Libyan money went to the Black Panther Party and the Nation of Islam. Libyan weapons and support went to the African National Congress, the Provisional Irish Republican Army, the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, and many other anti-imperialist armed groups.
What has happened to Libya since 2011 is yet another illustration of the sinister intentions behind US foreign policy. The unfolding chaos in Iraq, the instability in Afghanistan, the continuing campaign of violence and terrorism in Syria, and the horrendous state of Libya are not the result of miscalculations or blunders by western governments.
An Intentional Policy of Destruction
Samantha Power, declared to be the architect of the Libyan intervention has been promoted to the rank of US ambassador to the United Nations. Many of the armed terrorists who fought to destroy Libya have been transported to Syria, and told to continue their efforts.
Libya’s oil exports are a mere 11% of what they were prior to 2011.
The state owned Libyan oil company has been removed from the world market, and what little remains of Libya’s oil infrastructure, is now controlled by western capitalists. Wall Street has retaken Libya for itself, overturning the 1969 revolution. Stability, development, and arguably the most prosperous society on the African continent, has been destroyed.
The results of US intervention are on display in Libya for the whole world to see. Whenever the US media whips itself into a frenzy, talking about “humanitarianism” and the need to “rescue innocent people”, the intervention that results always makes the situation worse. The people the US and its allies intend to rescue, end up far worse off than before.
We should all look at the horror of Libya, and realize that we can never trust US officials, and that all calls for foreign intervention by the United States and the European Union must be loudly opposed by progressive forces.
In this excerpt from Bob Coen and Eric Nadler’s film “Shadow War of the Sahara”, broadcast on the Franco-German channel ARTE charts the rise of the U.S.military’s AFRICA COMAND (AFRICOM). This excerpt reveals why AFRICOM’s chief critic, Libya’s Mohammar Gaddafi, had to be removed from power for the project to succeed.
NATO War Crimes In Libya: Deformities of Newborns Because of Depleted Uranium Bombs
Regarding this depleted uranium report below, we brought in the first sophisticated radiation detectors with us on our fact finding commission in May of 2011.
Libyans knew that depleted uranium was being used by NATO in their bombing raids and they were very concerned.
There is no doubt that NATO/US broke every agreement imposed by the Geneva Convention.
War crimes against humanity in Libya by NATO and its member countries is unmatched in the world.
This is a crime beyond the wildest imagination, Libya was a naive country, no drugs, no AIDs, very few birth defects, very small number cancer patients– look at the evil left behind by the psychopaths of the one world order.
A new report from Human Rights Watch(better later than never, after backing the US-NATO propaganda during the entire aggression against Libya) has expressed deep concern with the confirmed information of the use, by both France and Britain, of Internationally prohibited weapons on raids in Libya in 2011 under the UN Resolution 1973.
1973 authorized NATO to bomb sites for military yet there were 60,000 bombing raids against civilian targets, great man made river, hospital, hotels, homes, schools, power plants and on and on.
Those NATO countries used bombing Libya with cluster bombs with depleted uranium radioactive metal, for its ability to penetrate the concrete.
As a result of the saturation of agricultural crops, livestock and water sources that have become seriously polluted with radiation resulting in the appearance of grossly deformed Newborns in Libya as well as the Libyan citizens
In Libya now being recorded by the WHO (world health organization), the highest deformation in fetuses inside Libya and reached 23% of newborns and also the high incidence of new forms of cancer that were not known among ordinary Libyans and now amounting to 18% of the total of cancers that have been diagnosed by the organization’s branch in Libya .
Despite this serious health disaster countries involved with NATO are now demanding that Libya pay them one billion seven hundred million dollars for their help in toppling the Gaddafi regime.
This is beyond absurd, first they stole 500 billion of Libyan money in the EU and the Fed and used it destroy Libya with bombs laden with radiation.
They destroyed the infrastructure, the government and left Libyans with terrorists in charge of their country, 2 million in exile and Libya should pay for this??
The leaders in these corrupt governments are so arrogant they think they can destroy a country and make that country pay for it – Libya already paid and paid – 500 times over.
Despite the fact that these weapons were originally intended for disposal and the US was supposed to pay for the disposal, they should be compensating for Libya because they used it (illegally) to get rid of dangerous weapons arsenal overflowing in storage with the British and French.
The non-reporting of this story is a prime example of the deception designed to darken our souls with apathy and ignorance – an arrogant ignorance at that.
…. not so long ago, in a far away land, there lived a benign ruler of a diverse people, a people who had little history of being a territorially distinct nation. For many of the people in this country, their nation-state allegiances ended at the boundaries of their particular tribe.
The kindly ruler’s problems were exacerbated by the sheer size of his country – a whopping 1,760,000 square kilometers – and its disparate and aggressively autonomous tribal groupings were of no help either. How could anyone form these huge cultural differences into one cohesive nation?
In this hot dry land of mostly desert waste was the additional problem of food, which was always at a premium. More important yet was water, which was as valuable as gold. How could the head of such a country become a benign ruler of a people who had no sense of national unity and no willingness to come together as one people, one nation?
It is said that when the right man meets the right opportunity, miracles will occur. Such a man appeared: his name was Muammar Gaddafi. The opportunity was oil – lots of it. The country? It was Libya, in northern Africa on the Mediterranean Sea.
If anyone knows of a national leader who shared the wealth of his country’s resources with the people of his nation more than Colonel Gaddafi did, please tell me who that man is or was. For years, the banker owned and controlled press demonized Muammar Gaddafi; but what he accomplished for his people during that time period seems to be that of storybook legend.
It has been said, that Colonel Gaddafi was never happier than when he was in the desert, amongst his people, and was always traveling with his Bedouin tent. He was truly a man of his people.
LIBYA MAN MADE RIVER
And by operating his country outside the tight financial orbit controlled and owned by the pathological and morbid International Banking and Monetary Cartel, Gaddafi made his country and its people the richest in Africa. As a result, however, he made some very powerful enemies – those who will not tolerate any economically independent nations to exist.
It was, however, his plan to exchange his nation’s oil for gold (or a gold-backed currency), instead of the inflated US reserve currency that probably prompted his brutal killing.
Such men as Muammar Gaddafi only come our way once in a century, proof of which is how he stood up to the most potent, anti-life power on earth. But in time, the wolves circled and eliminated him, then blackened his name in history.
This short piece is my humble effort to give a great mana better eulogy.
Gaddafi’s government had its own wholly-owned central bank that issued loans to its people free of interest, as riba (usury) was not permitted in Libya at that time. This was, of course, serious sacrilege to the usurers of Earth and it peoples.
Beyond the nomadic Bedouin and Tuareg tribes, most Libyan families owned both a house and a car. Again, Colonel Gaddafi had to be eliminated as the banking cartel considers middle classes anywhere as threats to their power.
Before the fifty-plus daily US/NATO bombings of Libya, and its defenseless civilian populations began, Muammar Gaddafi’s government gave everyone free healthcare and education.
Libyans enjoyed a literacy rate of over eighty percent. Literacy and an education that teaches critical thinking was also a threat to the power structure. Had Colonel Gaddafi followed the American model of governmentally forced stimulus-response education, he might have bought himself a few more years of life.
Before the bombings, largely of American origin, life expectancy in Libya was seventy-five years, the highest in Africa, and about ten percent above the world average.
Preceding the US-led air attacks, there was little to no unemployment in Libya.
Note: The United States of America has long been under the heavy control of the International Banking/Monetary Cartel; and as a result, today, we have, at least, 92 million unemployed citizens.
One of the biggest lies ever promoted by the corporate press is “War is good for the economy.”
War destroys economies due to the extensive debt-based, usury lending involved. Strong economies are made by producing in abundance needed and wanted goods and services that are sold at home and around the world.
Production, not destruction, builds a healthy economy.
Libya was a nation that had the highest gross domestic product in Africa, with less than five percent of its population classified as poor.
Libya, a hot, dry, dusty country, long suffered with a lack of clean water. Under the leadership of Muammar Gaddafi, however, the world’s largest infrastructure project was completed. It was a man-made, underground river that provided clean drinking water to seventy percent of the Libyan people, and held the potential of turning vast wastelands into farmlands – that is, until US/NATO bombs destroyed its pumping stations, thus destroying the entire project.
In 1991, at the gala opening of the Man-made River Project, the good Colonel Gaddafi spoke to the invited dignitaries and assembled crowd:
“After this achievement, American threats against Libya will double. The United States will make excuses [but] the real reason is to stop this achievement, to keep the people of Libya oppressed.”
The Colonel’s words were prophetic.
After American super bombers laid waste to Libya’s water and electricity, the bombers destroyed the country’s main food supply.
Massacre of Native Camels
For many decades, beginning in the summer, thousands of camels made a three-month journey from the grasslands of Libya to metropolitan markets. Amid the horrifying wailing and whimpering from thousands of camels and herdsmen being mindlessly and thoroughly slaughtered, the US/NATO bombs fell until animal and human flesh were ready to rot in the hot Libyan deserts.
For months and years the American mainstream media had demonized Muammar Gaddafi, often saying the goal was to bring democracy to Libya by removing their dictator.
So how did the US government justify the barbarity of butchering thousands of camels, while people were starving all over the rest of Africa?
Perhaps you heard the absurd answer from your own television set:
“The camels were carrying weaponryto support those loyal to Colonel Muammar Gaddafi.”
Sadly many Americans were happy with that answer never realizing that certainly, during the dark of nights, Libyan troops could have quickly transported their weapons all over their country in a matter of days, not months.
Death and destruction of all life forms are the hallmarks of the military forces controlled by the foreign Banking and Monetary Cartel.
The awful destruction of the once free and independent Libya should serve us as a moral lesson, representative of our atrocities in Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria, Lebanon, and Palestine, where hundreds of millions of people have been killed, injured, or made homeless in a radioactive hotbed of chaotic waste, with no known way of cleaning it up.
For no military tactical or strategic reasons, depleted uranium (DU) has been employed in all of our bombings in the Middle East… And still, the Western press calls our insane international crimes against humanityhumanitarian interventions.
I now ask my brothers and sisters in America and Europe to join with me in a prayer that the US/NATO axis of evil destruction desist from any more such humanitarian interventions.
